Music Bios

Kerry and Rob are hugely experienced in performance. They're skilled in building rapport with audiences, getting everyone involved, and love creating a magical atmosphere for those who come along to celebrate the music of The Carpenters.

  Rob Gallagher

Rob has been performing for more than 25 years in bands, orchestras, choirs, tribute acts, and musical theatre shows.

A self confessed Carpenters ‘super fan’, Rob took up drums first just like his idol, Karen Carpenter. A few years later Rob decided to learn piano and keyboard, just like his other idol, Richard Carpenter!

Stage credits include ‘Footloose’; ‘Sunshine on Leith’; ‘Rent’; and ‘Urinetown’.

Rob has played keyboards for ABBA tributes and covers bands across the UK.

Rob is also the Executive Director of a charity that supports disabled and neurodivergent musicians in Scotland.

‘Sing a Song: A Tribute to The Carpenters’ is a labour of love for Rob, who has studied by ear, and made it his mission to emulate the complex arrangements of Richard Carpenters since he was about 8 years old.

Kerry Burley

Kerry trained in voice and piano at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) and has been performing professionally for over twenty years. She holds a PGDip. in music, PGDip. in German Language and a Master’s Degree in Education and has extensive teaching, lecturing and coaching experience.

Kerry has performed extensively in theatre tours of the UK, Germany and Spain as well as on cruise ships in various tributes, choirs, jazz trios, bands and as a soloist, and continues to perform her Soul and Motown show ‘Soul Sister’ as well as solo cabaret work in theatres, holiday parks and clubs in the UK and abroad.

Previous theatrical roles include: Mrs Anna ‘The King and I’; Mrs Lovett ‘Sweeny Todd’; ‘Fantine’ in Les Miserables; Nelly Forbush in ‘South Pacific’ and professional tours of The ‘Rodgers and Hammerstein Songbook’ and ‘Side by Side by Sondheim.’

Kerry is delighted to be bringing the beautiful music of The Carpenters to audiences nationally and internationally, and is doing her very best to pay respectful vocal and drumming tribute to Karen Carpenter.

Our Band

As well as Rob on Piano/Backing Vocal and Kerry on Lead Vocal and Percussion, we're lucky to have four excellent musicians joining us on stage in our theatrical performances. We have multi-instrumentalist Dave Donnelly on Wind; David McQueen on Guitar; Louis Lindsay on Bass, and the hugely talented Nicola Kendall on Drums. We'll be posting footage of our live band soon!
